"I continue to dream and pray about a revival of holiness in our day that moves forth in mission and creates authentic community in which each person can be unleashed throgh the empowerment of the Spirit to fulfill God's creational intentions."

How To Pray: The Best of John Wesley on Prayer, pg. 70.

Invite Values Innovation.

The Holy Spirit wants us to innovate. But innovation isn’t a solo endeavor, and we don’t change the world on our own. Rather, it is the Holy Spirit moving through us that changes the world. The Holy Spirit calls, endows, and empowers all brothers and sisters in Christ to join in the joyful work of the emerging, abundant new creation. To do kingdom work is to cooperate with God. God wants us to be entrepreneurs and gives us the means to dream and develop new solutions to problems in the ongoing completion of God’s new creation.

We believe that new innovations are crucial to the work of ministry.

Invite Values Each Person’s Unique Gifts.

The Holy Spirit both deploys gifts “as the Spirit chooses” (1 Cor 12:11) and in response to our earnest desires for gifts (1 Cor 12:31). To work in God’s Spirit is to use your unique gifts in service to God’s kingdom. To be called to perform a particular task is to be given the inspiration and the resources necessary to accomplish the task. Understanding work as cooperation with God means we take the individual gifts of every person seriously.

We believe each person has the potential to engage with Invite as both learner and teacher.

Invite Values Individual Contexts.

The deployment of gifts isn’t restricted to single moments or specific vocations. The work of Christians isn’t the application of a fixed set of gifts to the paid work of an institutional church given to some people for all time, but the shared promise of new creation given to all people for specific times. The work of ministry also changes over time in response to changing needs in people, communities, and culture.

We believe that all people can apply new ideas to specific, changing ministry situations.

Invite Values Community.

We are called to do the work of ministry in community, understanding our gifts and sharing them with one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. We can’t do this alone! It is in only in the fellowship of saints that we stay equipped for the changing needs of ministry. When we work in community, sharing our gifts and inviting others to do the same, God’s Spirit moves, the kingdom emerges and new life flourishes. We find new life in the mutual sharing and equipping of our gifts in community, together.

We believe in the role of networks of communities in the ongoing work of ministry.

Invite Values Changing Lives.

When we work together in God’s Spirit, we are guaranteed to flourish, or bear fruit. Since the Spirit who imparts and activates our gifts is a guarantee (2 Cor 1:22; Rom 8:23) of the realization of this new creation, to work with God is to participate in the promise of God’s emerging kingdom. The power of the Holy Spirit is in each and every follower of Jesus.

When we receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit and share them with others, we live out the promise of God’s Kingdom and discover an abundant life (John 10:10), as God has designed.
